Overview: ESL Teachers United

ESL Teachers United was established in 2011 in response to the lack of oversight in the ESL industry. Information regarding ESL schools, their services and their employment practices is sketchy at best. While the overall impression of ESL via other ESL websites is that all is rosy in the world of English, seasoned ESL teachers & involved ESL students are well aware of the lack of quality in academics and the multitude of labor violations occuring "behind the scenes". Stopping this in an industry ten times bigger than Microsoft is extremely difficult and without the students and teachers banding together, virtually impossible.

While other websites have focused on specific areas such as individual countries or individual cities, ESL Teachers United is focused on the whole of the ESL industry worldwide which includes all ESL schools and their individual branches, all ESL recruiters, all ESL Certification companies, etc. ESL Teachers United believes that a more professional and cooperative approach is needed to improve an industry that often is lacking the structural boundaries and requirements governing most other major industries. We believe mutual cooperation leads to permanent and positive changes whereas blacklisting and smearing have only managed to drastically increase the gap of integrity and respect between ESL companies, ESL teachers and ESL students. Therefore, we encourage all members of the ESL industry to participate in making English a better experience for all parties concerned. We do not blacklist. We notify all parties concerned in a review, a discussion, etc. so as they have a fair opportunity to state their case. We also encourage praise where praise is due.

ESL Teachers United is focused on insuring that all information, regardless of how big or small, related to the ESL industry is recorded, updated & usable by all who are involved in the ESL industry. We also are here to assist, consult & mediate issues for ESL teachers & ESL students. We want to insure that ESL teachers are employed abroad in a transaprent and legally protected manner. All users of ESL Teachers United can join the International ESL Ratings & Reviews and add missing ESL entities and branches. All users can also edit current listings and update information in those listings.

We do not sell advertising outside the "Resources" section. The International ESL Job Classifieds are provided as a free service for Employers to post jobs for ESL teachers, students and even general jobs for those seeking to fill positions with English speakers. Jobseekers are provided full profiles and can upload their documents, CV / Resumes and more. Employers can post any job whether it may be for teaching , internships or general jobs.

Thank you for supporting ESL teachers & ESL students.

ESL Legal Information One of the primary points of concern for ESL Teachers United is the lax employer attitude towards providing contracts that legally abide by the labor laws of the concerning country in which that contract is signed. Often these "so-called" legally binding Employment Agreements are, in fact, not legal nor are they binding.
